Tra Dire e Fare (Between Saying and Doing), by Giorgia Todrani

There’s this beautiful Italian song by Giorgia Todrani titled Tra dire e fare, meaning ‘between saying and doing.’

What follows is an English translation (courtesy of GGSC), and then a slightly modified version by me. Here goes:

Between saying and doing, between land and sea, between all of the things that I’d have to say, I’m here … talking about love.

Between saying and doing, between good and evil, with all the things that I’ll have to do. I’m here … and I’m thinking only of you.

And let me do it. For me it’s enough to just talk to you for a while, only talk to you. I don’t want to make love; for me it’s enough to look at you, look at your slow movements, so slow that you make me feel that, just make me feel that this will last between you and me, and the time will stop between you and me.

Between saying and doing, between honey and salt, I’m here feeling your thoughts, that only I can hear.

Tell me that this will last between you and me,
and the time will stop between you and me.

My ‘mod’ next, changes in bold:

Between saying and doing, between earth and sky, between all of the places that I’d have to be, I’m here … living in love.

Between saying and doing, between sweet and sour, with all the things that I’ll have to feel. I’m here … and I desire only you.

And let me. For me it’s enough to just talk to you for a while, only talk to you. We don’t need to make love; for me it’s enough to be with you, taste only your presence. And it reaches deep so that you make me feel that, just make me feel that this will remain between you and me, and time a gift we share between you and me.

Between saying and doing, between smell and taste, I’m here feeling your heart, that only I would know.

Tell me that this will last between you and me,
and the time will stop between you and me.

I could never earn your heart

‘Loyal’ lyrics, sung by Lauren Daigle, with some thoughts and meditations (in parentheses). The song was written by Jason Ingram, Paul Mabury, and Jonas Myrin.

I could never earn Your heart
(Your love came of its will; unconditional)
I could never reach that far
(I am not perfect, and beauty gets old)
But You have pulled me close
(You want me, and have come close)
You’ve never let me go
(You always want me, and you stay close)
I’m safe forever in Your arms
(You hold me, keep me, keep my trust, protect my soul)
Your promises I can not break
(You promised; You keep your promises)
And I know You will never change
(You remain the same, with that constant essence)

Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
More faithful than the rising sun
(Sure as sure can be)
This grace for me I can’t outrun
(I could never get too far gone)
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal

You are always there for me
(Always on my side, helping every time, and rooting for me)
You listen every time I speak
(Everything I have to say matters to you)
You look into my eyes
(I am something to you; you see me)
You see the things I hide
(I am naked before You; You know me inside out)
And say that You will never leave
(You choose to stay, loving me all the same, regardless of anything)
Your promises I can not break
(You said it, and you’ve done it)
And I know You will never change
(I can rely on you; trust your love)

Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
More faithful than the rising sun
(Certain, as certain can be)
This grace for me I can’t outrun
(Your loving-kindness reaches to my depths and limits)
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal

When my world shakes
(‘Shit’ happens, and sometimes I falter)
Your love remains unshaken
(No shaking, Love is not moved)
So constant, so perfect, unwavering
(Unashamed to be with me, raising me)
When my world falls
Your love remains unfailing
(Facing failure and shame, you remain my help and comforter)
So constant, so perfect, unwavering
(unafraid to face my reality; you are with me while I grow, as I grow, making me grow)
So constant, so perfect, unwavering
(Your love is always with me, for me, for you)

Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal
More faithful than the rising sun
(steady, stable, and loyal to me and your word)
This grace for me I can’t outrun
(Your love is active; follows, stays, persists with me )
Your love is, Your love is
Your love is loyal

Loyal

Pasión

Volcano in rapture
She wells deep from within
Lava passion

PS:
I suppose that describes one or two people you(I) know.
Now thinking of Mel Gibson’s ‘The Passion of Christ.’ Only ever saw the movie preview.
Yeeah, the music came to mind: ‘Pasión,’ by Rodrigo Leão. Fantastic flow. Goes very well with tango (the dance). Check YouTube.
Talking of tango, … words are never sufficient.
Speaking of passion, words aren’t necessary.
I see me.
Another song comes to mind now: ‘I See Him,’ by Frank Edwards. YouTube it 🙂 Was somewhere where the song was put on repeat for quite a while. Obviously, something stayed with me.

You continued till it was done

The time came near
With the shudder of pain
Was there another way

Feeling as abandoned
through shame and crux
You continued till it was done

Within our humanity
There was something we should be
More than we knew

Stranger at home
Counting it joy
You were glad to be with us

Like I am
You saw what I see
Knowing how I feel

Holy Son Christ
You came for life
But then first to die

Hades you visited
Because you returned
My life has come

Minding Easter

Mind on Easter
Not for the break
But for the reason
The next love season
After Saint Valentine’s

There’s a few weeks left
Ponder now
Why wait till we get there

I wonder at what you did
As it is true
That you came to die
Suffering as in a movie
The Passion of Christ
Then to come back alive
Saying that I’d be kainos
As fresh as new
If truely I entered you.

Near maniacal
It must be love
What’s the difference
We’ve done the insane
In the name of the game
All giving and no taking
We gladly only accept to receive
If any harm
It was to self
And all without regret
In joy-full experience

How can you tell
It was one-sided
We love because He first loved
It had to start from somewhere
And it has come full circle

Thats pure and true
You would say so
How else could it go
If there’s no greater love
Than to lay down your life
For a friend
Literally
Not quite so and yet so
You’re not making sense
But still you understand

To you on the 14th of February

Our paths crossed
We made it one course
It remains the same
It will always be

I hear your words
My face brightens
You speak with passion
From depths I wish to know

You have this way you look at me
Loving me in your eyes
You stand with me with pride and regard
Gracious and earnest

You hear my words
Your face brightens
I speak from passion
From the heights you’ve raised me to

I have these thoughts for you in me
Your good always I imagine
I stand by you with regard and pride
Gracious and earnest

You’re my one and only and you know it
I’m your one and only and I see it
